With the opening of that first service station in Pittsburgh, a cultural institution was born. Here we celebrate some of the iconography from the heyday of full service.

Here is a section of an old general store sign. The partial words invite you to think about the offerings that were most important back in the day. And the typography and weathering make for a cherished memory. In our eyes this is an object worth celebrating.
Coke Bottle – Signage Series No. 6
This simple sign needs nothing but the iconic image of a light green contour bottle to sell its appeal. Stylized, graphic art is something we find very tasteful.
